Computer Science Olympics is an online coding and problem-solving competition run by the Alabama School of Fine Arts Computer Science Honor Society. Students will work through a set of fun computer science challenges that feel like puzzles: debugging small programs, recognizing patterns, solving logic problems, and using code to uncover answers. The competition is designed to be approachable for students and families who may be new to coding competitions. It is similar to a game-style challenge where each solved problem moves students forward, but the focus is learning, problem solving, and having fun with computer science. AYCS foundation classes, including Python Programming Foundations and AI Foundations, can help students prepare by building the coding confidence, debugging habits, and logical thinking used in the competition. Students do not have to be experts to register; the goal is to give motivated students a friendly place to test their skills and keep learning. Prize money is planned, with final prize details announced closer to the competition date. Schedule details are coming soon.
